Fitball

Ow. But a good ow. Fitball was fun! An hour long session flew in, never noticed the time to be honest. Feeling it in my shoulders and calves, which will likely make tomorrows run a right laugh! Anyhoo, off for a shower. Nanight.

Week 2 run 2

Feels a bit easier this running lark! Might I actually be getting fitter.....?

Oh hai, I'm back

Sorry if you been missing my blog posts. I've picked up a sinus infection and that put me out of action on Friday. Got out for a run on Saturday morning. Was the start of week 2, had to run for 1.5 minutes walk for 2. Not too bad either. Had some friends over on Saturday night, which was great. Except for the cigarettes I smoked. What a dumbass. I think I've convinced them all to give up too, so that should make things a whole lot easier. Anyway. Watching a terrible 80's movie that I loved. The best of the best.

Rest day

Its a rest day today, soooo I'm resting. Started on my supplements today, vanilla flavour, not bad. Had a shake for breakfast and one at lunch with an apple. Felt full all day, so that's good. Nothing else to report really. Feeling good and still up for the challenge.

Mid week weigh in

Well, I've had to move the scales. Won't go into it but basically where they were on the landing was giving me duff results. Up and down all over the place. So got them on a solid floor now. So starting weight would have been 15"6. Down to 14"9'. I'm happy with that. Plus my maximuscle supplements have turned up so will blog about that tomorrow. Nanight.

Running in the rain (and wind)

Went out running again tonight, I was dreading it a bit because of the weather, but actually I enjoyed it! Had the wind at my back for the first half so had a bit of fight on the way back. Looking forward to getting out again on Saturday.

Wheee

Not getting out to fitball tonight. Got no childcare, it's a good thing though because my newest nephew has arrived today! So grandparents are off visiting baby. Back to the plan tomorrow though. Right, best pick up middlechild from beavers. Tata.

Smoking

I've quit the cigs too. This is going to be harder than getting off the sofa. But I'm determined to do it.

Next steps

Decided on what I'm going to do next. I've agreed to go to "fitball" with my wife, not sure what to expect but will let you know. So Monday - Running, Tuesday - Fitball, Wednesday - Running, Thursday - Rest, Friday - Swimming, Saturday - Running, Sunday - Rest. I think it's achievable. Gonna try my hardest anyway

Supplements

After talking to the gym monsters again, about quicker weight loss and faster recovery times, they've pointed me at www.maximuscle.com for the weight loss supplements they provide. Not cheap, yowch, but screw it, I need all the help I can get. Ordered the special offer 30 day challenge, just need to get it now, and up my work rate so it has a more pronounced effect.

Second run down

Tonight was my second run. Was still a but stiff from Saturday but was told to work through it by a couple of gym monsters I work with. In their words, "no pain, no gain" The run itself was fine, was just a bit tougher than last time. But I'm well up for this now. What's next?

Music

Need to find something better than this generic pop/dance mix my wife has recommended.
It's time for a change then. I've downloaded the "Get Running" app for the iPhone. My wife has been doing this for a couple of weeks and on her advice I've started the couch to 5k programme, went for first run on Saturday! Eep. Was actually ok, even for a man with no muscle mass, but plenty of, well, mass! The app runs on top of your chosen music (more on this later) and gives you prompts on what to do.First off is 5 minutes walking, easy. 1 minute running (at your own pace) 1 and a half minute walking to catch your breath and then run again for a minute. Repeat until you've ran eight times 5 minute walking to cool down then stretch out at the end. Not too bad afterwards. Bit sore, but I expected it. Wheee! First step to fit fat man.

Intro

Why hello there, it seems you've come across my blog thing. This is basically a way for me to share my experience of getting fit and healthy (maybe you can help keep me on track!) First off, I'm obese, yeah I said it. O B E S E. Ah, feels good to get that off my chest. I'm a 31 year old man child. I like nothing more than sitting in front of my tv, eating takeaway and drinking beer. I also smoke... As you can imagine, not a good mix for anyone. I'm 5'9", and 14st9. Not massively overweight (or am I kidding myself?) but it's time I did something about it. So this is my journey. Let's get fit then shall we.
